WELCOME TO UNITING THROUGH SERVICE

Welcome to Uniting Through Service.

This is our very first release, and I am genuinely grateful you are here.

This platform was created for one simple reason. Incredible work is happening every single day in our clubs, districts, and zones, and too often those stories never travel beyond their local community. We talk about impact, service, leadership, innovation, and partnership, but unless we share the stories behind those words, the full power of Rotary is never fully seen.

Uniting Through Service is here to change that.

Incredible work is happening every single day in our clubs, districts, and zones, and too often those stories never travel beyond their local community.

This is more than a website. It is a living, growing platform. It will evolve. It will improve. It will continue to be refined as more stories are added and more voices join the conversation.

Because this is our first release, you may notice that the layout, categories, sorting options, and navigation will continue to shift over time. As content grows, we will reorganize, refine filters, highlight themes, and improve the overall experience. Think of this as the beginning of something much larger. Version one of a long-term vision.

And we are building it together.

Why Uniting Through Service Exists

Across Zones 26, 27, 28, and 32, and well beyond, extraordinary things are happening.

Clubs are funding and implementing Global Grants. Districts are launching bold and creative initiatives. Rotary Action Groups are bringing deep expertise to global challenges. Leaders are trying new ideas. Members are quietly changing lives.

But too often, those stories stay local.

When one club discovers something that works, another club should be able to learn from it.

When a district finds a creative solution, others should not have to reinvent the wheel. When one member shares a meaningful experience, it can inspire someone they may never meet.

This platform exists to connect those dots.

It is designed to:

• Spotlight club and district impact
• Elevate Rotary’s Areas of Focus
• Highlight Foundation and membership success
• Share leadership insights
• Celebrate innovation
• Preserve the stories that matter

Most importantly, it exists to inspire action.

This Is Just the Beginning

As more content is submitted and published, you will begin to see:

• Expanded topic sections
• Refined categories
• Improved sorting and filtering
• Featured story rotations
• Contributor highlights
• Thematic story collections
• Cross-zone collaboration features

Service is not about perfection. It is about forward motion.

We chose to launch now instead of waiting until everything felt perfect. Service is not about perfection. It is about forward motion. And forward motion begins when stories are shared.

We Need You

This platform only works if you participate.

If you are a club leader, share your project. If you are a district leader, highlight an initiative. If you serve in a Rotary Action Group, tell us what you are doing. If you are a member who experienced something meaningful, write it down and send it in.

You do not need to be a professional writer. You simply need to care about the work.

We will help shape your submission into a clear and compelling article while preserving your voice and your perspective.

If you have a story to share, please visit: YOU CAN HELP SHARE

Your story could be the one that sparks the next great idea in another club, district, or zone.

Thank You for Joining Uniting Through Service

Thank you for being here at the beginning.

Thank you for believing that stories matter.

Thank you for helping unite us through service.

This is our first release. It will grow. It will adapt. It will improve.

And together, it will become a powerful record of what happens when people choose to serve.

Welcome to Uniting Through Service.

Caleb Summerfelt

Caleb Summerfelt is a designer, storyteller, Rotary leader, and digital publisher focused on helping people and organizations communicate with clarity, purpose, and impact. He is the founder of Uniting Through Service (UTS), an international storytelling and news platform created to highlight the work, ideas, and people driving meaningful change through Rotary and service organizations around the world. Under his leadership, UTS has grown into a rapidly expanding publication focused on service, leadership, public image, membership growth, humanitarian impact, and global connection. Caleb currently serves as Rotary International Public Image Coordinator for Region 34 and previously served as District Governor for Rotary International District 5020 during the 2023–2024 Rotary year. During his term as District Governor, Rotary District 5020 raised more than $11.5 million for The Rotary Foundation, helping support projects and initiatives both locally and globally. Before focusing on publishing, storytelling, and creative leadership full time, Caleb spent more than two decades as a Chief Information Officer and technology leader overseeing enterprise systems, cybersecurity, communications infrastructure, and strategic operations. His professional background bridges technology, design, leadership, architecture, branding, and public communication. Caleb is also the founder of NSB Design Works and Great Bowerbirdling Design, creative companies centered around design, storytelling, branding, fabrication, and digital media. His work often combines technical precision with visual storytelling to help organizations communicate more effectively and create meaningful experiences. A lifelong advocate for resilience, inclusion, and personal growth, Caleb frequently writes and speaks about overcoming adversity, leadership through service, public image strategy, and the power one person has to make a difference. His work is heavily influenced by his personal journey navigating a visual processing disability, an experience that shaped his perspective on leadership, empathy, perseverance, and communication. He is currently developing several books and media projects focused on leadership, resilience, storytelling, and the human side of service. Caleb holds degrees in architecture and engineering technology management from Washington State University and continues to work at the intersection of creativity, technology, leadership, and service.
