Local service brought Montana Rotary clubs closer than ever
Rotary’s Epic Day of Service fits Montana perfectly. Many clubs are engaged in international service, but the heart of every Rotary club in District 5390 is rooted in local community and service.
As DG, my one “Governess wish” was 100% participation in Montana’s first Epic Day of Service: 38 projects in 38 communities.

Epic Day of Service Builds Statewide Momentum
Our District Epic Day Chair, Membership and Public Image Committees formed the EPIC Dream Team, creating a wealth of resources and working with clubs directly. Media groups across Montana helped turn news of individual service projects into a statewide story on Rotary. Epic Day events appeared on evening TV news, live radio, and front-page newspapers.
Epic Day strengthened the connection between our clubs and our district. We brainstormed project ideas, coached and cheered each other on. We United for Good and the results were…EPIC! 36 of 38 Rotary clubs and 2 Interact clubs hosted projects across Montana. Epic Day photos, videos, phone calls, and text messages came in from every corner of Montana, huge smiles and enormous satisfaction!

Renewed Purpose Across Montana Clubs
Two club presidents thanked Epic Day for “literally saving their clubs” by renewing club purpose and spirit, and engaging more members than had volunteered in years. Another club crewed for a major community event and gained two dynamic new members, the club’s first inductions “in ages.”
It was a beautiful collaboration and a bright chance to tell our Rotary story, that Rotarians are neighbors, friends, and leaders working together to lift up our communities and the world.

We are already planning for Epic Day 2027!
