From a single aid box to global disaster response
Twenty five years ago, the Rotary Club of Helston Lizard in the UK imagined something simple yet extraordinary: a single box filled with essential aid items that could help eight to ten families each year after disaster. This Rotary Vision and ShelterBox Impact began with one club, one vision, one box and a belief that ordinary people could make an extraordinary difference.
A quarter century later, that spark has grown into a global movement. Rotary members have stood with us in some of the hardest moments people can face. They have helped us raise vital funds, opened doors in local communities and government offices, shared their networks and expertise, and worked shoulder to shoulder with our teams as emergency shelter was delivered.

Rotary Vision and ShelterBox Impact in Action Worldwide
Rotarians have trekked through decimated villages in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco to deliver vital supplies after an earthquake. They have donated land for us to create a ShelterBox Operations Philippines warehouse to store aid items for a more efficient and timely response to disaster. Together, we have helped families rebuild, repair, and return home.
Today, ShelterBox is proud to be an official partner of Rotary International, supported by 14 global affiliates that carry forward the same vision born in Helston Lizard. Because of Rotarians, Rotary Clubs, and Rotary Districts, we have been able to respond to some of the world’s most devastating disasters.
